Pastor Kathy L. Hughes was born in Waverly, Florida She accepted Christ as a Teenager at the Macedonia Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary (Boston, MA). She also is a Connecticut State Certified Domestic Violence Counselor.
She relocated to Hartford Connecticut and was united in Holy Matrimony to her Husband Willie L. Hughes and to this Union they were blessed with three Children Vishanna, Willie Jr. and Sabrina. The Holy Spirit led her to join the 'Revival Time' Church under the leadership the Reverend James Williams.
Pastor Hughes has traveled extensively on Numerous Missionary Trips to: Jamaica, Trinidad, and Barbados. In July 2002 she began to sense God calling her to a Greater Mandate and after 21 years as the Supervisor of the Information Unit for the City of Hartford, She took an 'Early Retirement'. In November 2003, she traveled with the Southern New England Diocese State-Evangelist team with Apostle Melissa Morris to conduct a 4-Day Revival in Utica, New York to assist Deaconess Ophelia Wright and her Family to continue on the Legacy of the Late General Elder Elester Wright, Sr. who had transitioned from Labor to Reward.
Pastor Hughes commuted over 3 1/2 Hours both ways from Connecticut to Utica to assist Church Leaders in continuing the Legacy of General Elder Wright trusting God would raise up someone from within the local body.
In July of 2005 Elder Hughes received a phone call from the President General Bishop Jesse White, Sr. stating that the Members of the First Church of the Living God, P.G.T. had requested her to serve as their Permanent Pastor. Later on that year, Bishop White ordained and appointed Elder Hughes as Senior Pastor of the First Church of the Living God, P.G.T. (Utica, NY). In February of 2005, God orchestrated a 'Divine Shift' Elder Hughes, Her Husband and 3 Members Trustee Elester Wright Jr, Deaconess Sandra Wright, and Deacon Rufus Holliman began the Ministry.
